The “Llíria City Of Music” Orchestra will offer a prologue concert to the centenary of Joaquín Sorolla

THE DIRECTOR VICENT PELECHANO AND THE YOUNG GUITARIST AUSIÀS PAREJO WILL PERFORM THE RECITAL “MÚSICA A LA LLUM DE SOROLLA” ON DECEMBER 8TH

Llíria will pay tribute to Joaquín Sorolla with music. The “Llíria City Of Music” Orchestra, made up of professional and semi-professional musicians from the town, will offer an extraordinary concert this coming Thursday, December 8, as a prologue to the centenary of the death of the famous and universal Valencian painter. The performance will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Banda Primitiva theater. Admission is free until full capacity.

With the title “Música a la llum de Sorolla”, the musical group will perform a large program of pieces that will be accompanied by an audiovisual with the most outstanding works of the Valencian artist.

The concert will be directed by maestro Vicent Pelechano, one of the most emerging Spanish conductors in recent years, with a marked personality that he prints in his concerts. He is classified by the specialized press as an orchestra conductor with incredible intellectual capacity, emotional and psychological intelligence.

Since the 2014/2015 season, he has obtained the position of director of the Santander Municipal Music Band, a position that he combines with the numerous national and international commitments he has as a guest conductor, and on this occasion he will assume the baton of the “Llíria” Orchestra. City of Music”.

Likewise, he will be accompanied by the young soloist guitarist, Ausiàs Parejo. Born in 2006 into a family of musicians, he started playing the guitar at the age of 4 with his father, the guitarist Rubén Parejo. He has been the best Spanish interpreter of the Valencian Community in the International Contest “Francisco Tárrega” of Benicàssim, two consecutive years, 2021 and 2022

At just 16 years old, he has won 35 first prizes in national and international competitions, interpreting with a virtuosity and sensitivity that leaves no one indifferent. He has been invited to prestigious guitar festivals in Italy, Croatia, Portugal, Mexico, France, the Czech Republic and Spain. He has performed at the Palau de la Música in Valencia, the Miguel Llobet Festival in Barcelona, ​​The Sea and Guitars Festival, the International Festival of Adriatico, the Festival of Iberian Culture and Flamenco Colors of the Czech Republic or the International Guitar Festival of Morelia-Mexico.

Este espacio arqueológico conserva uno de los conjuntos arquitectónicos relacionados con el mundo funerario, más importantes de la antigua provincia romana de Hispania.

Estos monumentos funerarios formaban parte de la antigua necrópolis de Edeta. Se conservan los restos de dos monumentos funerarios dispuestos junto con una de las principales vías de la entrada a la ciudad romana.

Junto a la vía necrópolis, se encuentra el umbral de la entrada al recinto funerario constituido por cuatro losas con la inscripción latina P. CLODIVS EVTYCHVS SIBI ET CLODIAE NATALI VXORI CARISSIMAE que significa “P. Clodio Eutico lo construyó para sí y para Clodia Natalia, su amadísima esposa”.

El primer monumento tiene la fachada decorada con pilastras acanaladas y una cámara interior con dos bancos corridos donde se celebraban las fiestas de los parientes. El segundo monumento pertenece al grupo de sepulcros turriformes y conserva una losa con un orificio central para realizar las libaciones que tapa una cavidad cúbica donde se depositaban las incineraciones y los ajuares funerarios.

Un audiovisual dedicado al mundo funerario romano puede contemplarse en una de las salas de este sótano arqueológico.
