Edeta Arts starts its 2023 programming in Llíria

THE PRESTIGIOUS CHOIR “THE UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA SINGERS” WILL PERFORM NEXT SUNDAY AT LA SANG CHURCH

Edeta Arts and Turisme Llíria will open this week the concert program they have prepared to be held in Llíria throughout 2023. Edeta Arts is a cultural organization formed by a team of international artists, whose mission is to create and promote a series of festivals, events and world-class initiatives that bring international musicians and ensembles to Spain, with a special focus on the Valencian Community, and more specifically in Llíria, Creative City of Music by UNESCO. At the core of its philosophy is the essential element of musical collaboration and international cultural exchange with local musical organizations.

As reported by the mayor of Tourism and UNESCO Creative City of Llíria, Paco Garcia, during the first week of May, “the choir of the University of Manitoba will tour Spain with Edeta Arts, in which they will perform in the cities of Barcelona, Tarragona, Montserrat, Valencia, Alcalá de Henares and Llíria”.

The prestigious Canadian formation will present the music that has made it one of the most outstanding choirs in Canada, in some of the most iconic monuments in Spain, such as the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, the Cathedral of Tarragona, the Monastery of Montserrat or the church of the Sang de Llíria.

Precisely, the temple edetano will host his performance next Sunday, May 7, at 12.00 pm. Admission is free until full capacity.

On the other hand, Paco García has pointed out that the performers of the University of Manitoba have sung with leading ensembles such as the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, the Penderecki String Quartet, the Hilliard Ensemble and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.

Their innovative and inspired performances feature a wide range of new and traditional choral repertoire. “The University of Manitoba Singers” has toured extensively throughout America and Europe, collaborating with many prominent arts organizations.

The choir is under the baton of “innovative, expressive and dynamic” Elroy Friesen, director of Choral Studies at the University of Manitoba, where he conducts numerous choirs and teaches graduate conducting. He has been artistic director of Canzona, Winnipeg’s professional baroque choral ensemble, and actively researches baroque performance practice. His award-winning ensembles tour nationally and internationally, and are frequently recorded and broadcast by the CBC.

4) MAUSOLEOS ROMANOS

Ciudad romana. S. I – II d.C. declarado BIC
