Llíria organizes the III National Competition of Clarinet “Llíria, Ciutat Creativa

WILL BE HELD ON JUNE 17 AND 18 AT THE LOCAL PROFESSIONAL CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC.

Organized by S&M Music and with the collaboration of the Concejalía de Enseñanzas Artísticas del Ayuntamiento de Llíria, the town of Llíria will hold the III National Clarinet Competition “Llíria, Ciutat Creativa”. The competition will take place on June 17 and 18, once again in the facilities of the Professional Conservatory of Music of the town, which belongs to the public network of the Generalitat Valenciana.

The registration period to participate will be open until May 31, 2023 through the website https://smmusic.es/. The organization will communicate to the applicants, by e-mail or cell phone SMS, the confirmation of registration in the competition.

The Councilor for Artistic Education and Creative City UNESCO, Paco Garcia, noted that the competition “remains true to its educational objectives among students of clarinet”, while “we must emphasize its growth, both in the number of participants and sponsors of the sector who have decided to support this initiative, which covers the different educational stages of music studies, from elementary to higher education”.

In this edition, the organizing entity, S&M Music, has achieved the direct involvement of brands in the sector that, together with the institutional support of the City Council of Llíria, as well as the cultural associations of the city, has allowed a substantial improvement of the awards, endowed with more material for the highest scores of each course from 1st to 4th of elementary education and 1st to 4th of professional education. Prizes have also been increased for the third, second and first prizes of the 5th and 6th courses of professional education, as well as those of the two levels corresponding to higher education.

Likewise, García pointed out that the competition “represents an incentive for young clarinettists, in addition to having a series of free activities for all participants, such as exhibitions of instruments, accessories or scores, masterclasses and conferences, and two concerts sponsored by different brands that will accompany the various awards ceremonies.

Performances at the contest
On Saturday, June 17, Luis Fernández Castelló, one of the most outstanding young clarinettists on the national scene, will perform together with pianist Carlos Apellániz, representing the brands Selmer, Vandoren, PuntoRep, Euromúsica, Bag and Júpiter.

On Sunday, June 18, the clarinetist of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Benoit Willman, will give a masterclass and offer a concert, sponsored by the Yamaha brand, which will put the finishing touch to the III edition of the competition.

4) MAUSOLEOS ROMANOS

Ciudad romana. S. I – II d.C. declarado BIC
