Last Saturday, September 18, dozens of attendees at the ‘Ciutat de Llíria’ Youth Bands Festival, held in the town’s Plaza Mayor, were aware that the town’s musical future is in very good hands. The youth groups from both the Unió Musical and the Banda Primitiva performed with a very high level of quality and very diverse and dynamic programmes to delight an audience that was surprised by the evolution of the young groups.
The Banda Juvenil de la Unió Musical de Llíria, with Esteban Espinosa as conductor, performed first, interpreting the pasodoble ‘A mi madre’, by Roque Baños, to open the event. They continued with the piece ‘Ivanhoe’, by Bert Appermont and ended their performance with the piece ‘The Ghost Ship’, by the composer José Alberto Pina.
For their part, the Banda Juvenil Primitiva, conducted by Chano Silvestre, premiered on stage with the pasodoble ‘Clarinera Major’, by Juan Vicente Mas Quiles, followed by the piece ‘Reflections of This Time’ by Ted Huggens and ended with ‘Les Miserables’ by Alain Boubil/Claude Michel Schonberg.
Programmes with great names and a lot of music that made the ‘Ciutat de Llíria’ Youth Bands Festival a success.
